We are obsessed with fast results. We want what we don’t have and we envy those who have photoshopped bodies or who have the job we want.
Everyone talks about “starting tomorrow” or “One day I will…” but the reality is you can keep filling in the blanks because it is never going to happen unless you change one thing.
A Lesson in Reality:
There are only three things we have control over in our lives to actually change. We want to think that we can change who we are, but doing it is another issue.
Physically there are only 3 things we can actually change:
While I am going to outline each of the three above, the only one that matters is the last one — Changing your Mind.
Believe it or not, the science now shows you can change just about anything that you want to change with very few exceptions. You can change your health status, you can change your weight, you can change how athletic you are, you can change your eye color, you can change your metabolism, you can change your hair color, you can change lower back issues, your medications, your immune system; just to name a few. The few exceptions are inborn genetic diseases and bone length. Current advancements in gene therapy, however, are showing promising results in alleviating some of those exceptions.
With that being said — changing any of these things is much harder than it appears. While some require trained professionals, most require an internal switch, you have to first change your mind to change your body.
If you do not like your job then change it. If you want to be your own boss, then work to build your own small business. If you want to move up in your career — become better at your craft or win at office politics.
Whatever it maybe changing your craft or your career is as easy as thinking of your end goal and reverse engineering how you can get there from where you are.
Arguably the glue behind all real change in this world.
If you want to change your life, If you want to find happiness, If you want to find internal peace, If you want to change your body, If you want to change your future, Then you have to change your MIND.
When it comes to changing, we often hear two contradicting attitudes:
Subject 1: “I can do that, pshh that looks easy, I’ll start tomorrow”
Subject 2: “This is just the way I am, I am never going to change. Why are you trying to change me?”
Note the difference — Some think they can change anything (but they never do) and others think they can not change who they are.
“I can’t help it I was born this way … it is how I was raised”
The reality is we CAN change everything in our life. It really is up to us.
Now, I am not saying it is going to be easy, but it is possible to change who you are, how you react to things, what you look like, what your future holds, and your personal happiness.
It is all about making the hard decision.
The hard decision to step out of our comfort zone and commit to making the change.
“To get what you want, you have to be willing to do whatever it takes. You have to be willing to make the hard decisions and not give in to temptations.
